Approximate address#65

PLEASE REMOVE THIS I ADDED IT BUT IT IS A DUPLICATE OF ANOTHER ENTRY - Let me add my town of residence rather than my full address to my profile. I really don’t want to give anyone the actual location of my cars.

We’re super aware of your concern here for many reasons, theft risk being but one of them
We believe we have already implemented a some functionality you’re asking for already but happy to discuss if you think we need to do more.

What we currently do:

Whilst we store your full address, we never show the full address to anyone in your garage / on your profile or on any car or garage pages you choose to share. We only show the country and town/city based on that full address.

Mine for example just shows London, UK at the shared link below even though I have my full address set on my profile.

We (Custodian) do still collect people’s addresses and store them securely and encrypted at rest. We do so for use with our future services, Insurance being the first. Knowing your address will save you having to fill them all in again should you decide to take out Custodian insurance in the future.

We also have a feature in the roadmap to allow having multiple addresses so you can assign different addresses to different cars for that purpose as well (e.g storage locations and/repair shops too).
